Admissions Open for Data Science and AI Programs at IIT Madras Zanzibar Campus
IIT Madras, established by an Act of the Indian Parliament in 1959, holds national significance. The forthcoming IITM Zanzibar campus aims to be a top-tier institution catering to East Africa's educational and research requirements. Operating from October 2023, this campus is a distinctive collaboration between Govt. of India and Zanzibar, and IIT Madras.
The IIT Madras Zanzibar campus is set to provide a comprehensive educational experience. This includes a four-year Bachelor of Science degree specializing in Data Science and AI, as well as a two-year Master of Technology degree in the same field. The final selection of candidates will be determined based on their meeting the specified eligibility criteria and academic qualifications
IIT Madras is currently accepting applications for its Zanzibar, Tanzania Campus courses. Prospective students can submit their applications through the recently launched IIT Zanzibar website. The application deadline is August 5th. The admission process involves a screening test that assesses aptitude in mathematics, science, English, and analytical ability. Shortlisted candidates will also have interviews with faculty as part of the selection process.
Applicants who have successfully completed Class 12, Form VI, or equivalent qualification within the last three years are eligible to seek admission to the BS program. Individuals holding a four-year undergraduate degree in engineering or science fields are encouraged to apply for the MTech programs.
